Stop Hair Fall With This Homemade Biotin Powder

Spending money on biotin supplements every month? You don’t have to.

Some of the richest sources of biotin and hair-growth nutrients exist in natural ingredients you can find easily — and when you combine them into one simple daily powder, the results can genuinely surprise you.

One spoon a day. That’s all it takes.

Why Biotin Matters for Your Hair
Biotin (Vitamin B7) is the backbone of keratin — the protein your hair is literally made of. When your body is low on biotin, hair becomes thin, weak, and starts falling more than it should. But biotin doesn’t work alone. It needs zinc, iron, silica, and protein to truly do its job. This powder gives your body all of them together.

Your DIY Biotin Powder Ingredients
Flaxseeds (ground) — One of the richest plant sources of biotin. Also packed with omega-3 fatty acids that nourish hair follicles directly and reduce the scalp inflammation that silently causes hair fall.

Sunflower Seeds (ground) — Loaded with biotin, Vitamin E, and zinc. Sunflower seeds are genuinely one of the most underrated ingredients for hair health. They strengthen the hair shaft and reduce breakage significantly.

Pumpkin Seeds (ground) — Rich in zinc and iron, two minerals that are directly linked to hair loss when deficient. Pumpkin seeds also contain cucurbitin, an amino acid that actively supports hair growth.

Amla Powder (Indian Gooseberry) — Amla is one of the most powerful hair foods in existence. It’s packed with Vitamin C which boosts collagen for the scalp, reduces premature greying, and strengthens roots from within.

Sesame Seeds (ground) — High in calcium, magnesium, and iron — nutrients that feed hair follicles and keep the scalp healthy. Black sesame seeds are especially powerful if you can find them.

Moringa Powder — Called a superfood for good reason. Moringa contains all the essential amino acids your hair needs to build strong keratin. It also contains iron and zinc in high amounts — making it one of the best additions to this powder.

Fenugreek Seeds (ground) — Fenugreek is a tried and tested remedy for hair fall. It contains hormone precursors that strengthen hair follicles and nicotinic acid that directly stimulates hair growth.

How to Make It
Dry roast the seeds lightly, let them cool, then grind everything into a fine powder. Mix in the ratios below:

1 tsp ground flaxseeds + 1 tsp ground sunflower seeds + 1 tsp ground pumpkin seeds + 1 tsp amla powder + ½ tsp ground sesame seeds + 1 tsp moringa powder + ½ tsp ground fenugreek seeds

Mix well and store in an airtight glass jar away from sunlight. Stays fresh for up to 3–4 weeks.

How to Consume It
Take 1 heaped teaspoon every morning. You can mix it into warm water, blend it into a smoothie, stir it into yogurt, or mix it into your morning lassi. Taking it on an empty stomach or with breakfast works best for absorption.

Be consistent. This is not a one-week fix — give it 6 to 8 weeks and you will start noticing less hair in your brush, more baby hairs along your hairline, and stronger hair overall.
