Conservative influencer Emily Hart is actually a work of AI.<\/p>\n
A Facebook account in Hart\u2019s name has raked up thousands of followers, though the page was actually created by 22-year-old aspiring Indian med student named Sam to help fund his tuition.<\/p>\n
Sam told Wired in a Tuesday, April 21, profile that he used Google Gemini\u2019s Nano Banana Pro to engineer bikini photos of a woman that he could sell for a profit.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you create a generic \u2018hot girl,\u2019 you\u2019re competing with a million other models,\u201d a Gemini description said, according to Sam.<\/p>\n
Sam offered the chatbot a few possibilities to narrow down the AI code, including one in the \u201cMAGA\/conservative niche.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe conservative audience (especially older men in the US) often has higher disposable income and is more loyal,\u201d the Gemini transcript told Sam.<\/p>\n
A representative for Gemini, meanwhile, told Wired that, \u201cGemini is designed not to give a particular opinion unless you tell it to. Instead, it is designed to offer neutral responses that don\u2019t favor any political ideology or viewpoint.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sam subsequently launched a Facebook and Instagram profile for Emily Hart, who appeared to be a blonde registered nurse sharing photos of herself ice fishing, drinking Coors Light beers and shooting firearms at a riflery range.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you want a reason to unfollow: Christ is king, abortion is murder, and all illegals must be deported,\u201d Hart captioned one post, writing over another, \u201cPOV: You were assigned intelligent at birth, but you identify as liberal .\u201d<\/p>\n
As for Sam, he has never lived in the United States but has studied the \u201cMake America Great Again\u201d movement popularized by President Donald Trump during his first campaign for office in 2016.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery day I\u2019d write something pro-Christian, pro-Second Amendment, pro-life, anti-abortion, anti-woke and anti-immigration,\u201d Sam told the outlet of crafting Hart\u2019s online persona. \u201cEvery Reel I posted was getting three million views, five million views [or] 10 million views. The algorithm loved it.\u201d<\/p>\n
He continued, \u201cI was spending maybe 30 to 50 minutes of my day, and I was making good money for a medical student. In India, even in professional jobs, you can\u2019t make this amount of money. I haven\u2019t seen any easier way to make money online.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to Sam, he targeted MAGA followers because they allegedly are \u201csuper dumb people\u201d who would buy into his scheme.<\/p>\n
\u201cDemocrats know that it\u2019s AI slop, so they don\u2019t engage as much,\u201d he said. \u201cThe MAGA crowd is made up of dumb people \u2014 like, super dumb people. And they fall for it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sam also made a Fanvue account for Hart, uploading AI-generated nude photos created by Grok onto the OnlyFans-type platform.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was basically doing nothing, and it was just flooded with money,\u201d he recalled. \u201cOnce a guy sent me a video with Emily\u2019s nude on a tablet on a pillow, and he was basically recording himself f***ing the pillow. It was incredibly weird, but he sent me a $50 tip, so I was like, \u2018OK, do what you want.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
Meta banned Hart\u2019s profile in February for fraudulent activity, and the Facebook page also appears to have been deactivated at the time of publication.<\/p>\n
